Soldier Piles and Lagging
In August of 2015, Ferraro began work in downtown Buffalo to construct a 4 sided support of excavation to access a blocked sewer pipe exiting the basement of the library. The blockage was located was 20’ below an active city street. As a result, work was restricted to weekends and off hours during street closures. Wide flange steel sections were concreted into drilled soldier piles and lagged as excavation progressed in 5’ lifts. All work was completed over 2 consecutive weekends.
